How the hell does this work? What am I supposed to do?

I tried to make the line stop at the red buttons, but not only was this really frustratingly hard, it turned out to do ♥♥♥♥-all even after I pressed the aiming button. At that point I just gave up.

what seems to work for me is when you have the line over the red dot, hit the scan button and it should work. Also you dont need to stop the line.

I tried that too, but it's next to impossible to hit the button at the correct time. The line's too bloody fast.

I have the same problem with this minigame. I've stopped the line *exactly* on the dot and pressed the scan button, but it doesn't work. The weird thing is that I'm sure I've done this one before and it did work...

Just don't stop the line, but press the other button to remove the red dots. It's a bit tricky, but:

1. The line gets slower (I think), if you don't manage it quickly.
   
2. You can foresee that you need to fix the train when sparks fly from a piece of equipment. If so, you can start fixing it before it's too late and everyone's losing health

You need to let the line advance and press the scan button on every red dot. Until they gone .Easy as that.
