Mr. Boar trouble

I've fed Mr. Boar numerous sandwiches, gotten the tomatoes, but can't seem to finish. The ax is there, but I can't pick it up. Can't figure out how to proceed. I've checked the guides, and it seems maybe I did it in the wrong order. Can I finish the room without restarting? What am I missing?

Well as you could see the recipe. The tomatoes are cooked with Mr.Boar. Not for his sandwich. You should keep it yourself.
