is this the right way to play this game?
this is how I've been playing..open door, run hide in corner, come back , open door throw boot in, if safe go pick up boot, repeat until you throw both shoes into rooms that have the blue grid bars over the doors and you can't get your boots back, go into next room and die? is this the right way to play?
EDIT: here's an idea..lost both my boots to the blue grid bar rooms and then met an NPC wandering about in a room..idea:- mug/kill him for his boots, next room a trap killed something and left behind one of its boots,,I couldn't pick it up... idea:- let me pick it up lol..idea for blue bar rooms...when you throw boot in and can't get it back, make one of the rooms connected to it that you haven't visited before have a computer console with a puzzle element ( sokoban style maybe )so that you can turn off blue bars, disengage trap and get your boot back.
.what do you guys think about these ideas?
PS I really like this idea of the cube gameplay and hope that you turn it into a great game, oh and the doors mechanisms need to open faster.1 second should do it,,cheers

2nd EDIT just managed to pick up the shoe from the guy who runs across the room and explodes...put cross hairs on the boot and press E
noticed that there is a loading screen that says:-
blue =0 green =1 yellow =2 purple =3 red = 4 meaning the connected rooms have traps or not but by playing it appears that red =3 not purple is this right?

Nono you need to hide in rooms and steal other players shoes.

I think I was playing the single player game, didn't see any other steam users
Try changing game lobby region. Hoarding shoes is fun ^^

It's a giant game of minesweeper

Yeah the color of the tiles really is helpful if you want to hold onto your shoes a little longer. Considering there is no achievement for winning, I don't bother exiting the game when I ahve found the exit, I just ekep searching rooms until I am finally dead. To maximise the number of rooms explored, I have found that marking the map (bring up map with 'm', and then click 'o' to allow for marking. Then use left click of mouse to add marks) really allows you to see what is probably going to be safe. As Caustic said, it is a big game of Minesweeper. And make sure to peek into the enxt room, even if it is a trap, so that you can see the number of connected trap rooms.

You weill get a feel for the colors and what you can mark on the map, from there it is really down to luck :P

thx heaps. I've been using pen and paper to work out how to solve the single player game..wondered why I had to . instead of it all being available in game..prolly not as detailed as I'd like an I'd have to go back to using pen and paper anyways.
