Hope there's a fix or at least a workaround, Tee K.O. absolutely slew us with laughter on my stream, but the risk of running near 100% CPU constantly is sadly not worth even that much laughing. :(
Edit: couple other possibly helpful things: was running windowed, streaming with current version of OBS Studio at 720p/60
https://pcpartpicker.com/user/lycoloco/saved/dLKKHx is my build
Thanks for checking into this and hope to have it fixed for many more great parties!
Specs[i.imgur.com] in case it helps with the troubleshooting.
Jackbox 1, 2 and Drawful 2 are still working fine, but Jackbox 3 is currently a party pooper over here.
Jackbox 1's fine on mine, 2 is relatively okay for me, noticeable lag for me in Drawful 2 (which is 98mb download I believe)
Think i fixed it! temporarily anyway.
Used standard troubelshooting steps.
Disabled Gsync, didn't work.
Ran compatibilty mode (windows 7), didn't work.
Ran as system administrator from raw .exe in file browser, worked immediately.
I'm currently playing it with friends, i'll retest afterwards, but for those who are wanting to play right now, give it a shot. Set it to windows 7 compatibilyt mode, then admin run.
Game runs like absolute **** on my main PC, but on my little alienware alpha it runs buttery smooth.
Main PC Specs (the problem):
i7 6700k - non overclocked
GTX 980ti - non overclocked
16gb DDR4
Windows 10 64bit
peripherals: Razer keyboard/mouse (synapse), HTC Vive, Xbox one controller adapter
Display output: Display port @ 2560x1440 : 165hz
Alienware alpha (no problem at all)
i3-4130t - non overclocked
Some inbuilt mobile Geforce GPU - 2gb GDDR5
8gb DDR3
Windows 10 64bit
peripherals: Generic microsoft mouse and keyboard, logitech headset.
Display output: HDMI @ 1920x1080 : 60hz
On the machine with the issue, i've attempted the following:
Disabled Gsync
Reduced display output refresh rate
Ran compatibilty mode
Ran as system administrator (this manages to imrpove the frame rate of the startup of the game as well as the main menu choices of the games).
Reinstalled the game
Restarted the computer
I have windows defender and firewall disabled.
No antivirus software
Windows is entirely up too date.
Verified integrity of game files did nothing.
The primary issue is not just frame rate, but actual game processing rate.
Eg; at the beginning of any game when all players are in, and you click 'start game' on the VIP phone, the audio for 3..2..1 will play just fine, but the actual animations will take 10 seconds PER number. You are literally waiting 30 seconds for the countdown to finish.
This is true for all the games in the bundle.
Hope this post helps to get this sorted, in the meantime i'm just playing on my secondary machine (which is much older/weaker).
