Although this would be useless for anything under a couple of hundred feet, there could be an LoD system that replaces them with autogen or something near the airports.
I don't mind if you plot a course or start flying in an area and it starts loading in the surrounding areas predicting almost the only paths you could take before reaching them.
Some of us have plenty of room to store the images for quick retrieval later, I wouldn’t mind if it stored 2 terabits of data on my hard drive. Its not about the money but the ability.
I am supper happy with the Google earth map and if I could fly there that would be all I needed.
The map resolution and topography is the best I have seen. Add in some workshop 3d model add-ons and you have the best available flight/car/bike simulator there is!
