VR controller sensitivity and mapping buttons
Hello Devs,

Awesome job on the VR hands implementation, just had a great flight around NYC!
I just have a few questions:

1. Is the sensitivity on the controllers adjustable? What I am seeing on my Oculus Rift is whenever I use the thumbstick while taxing, an extremely small movement on the left thumbstick will translate in a massive movement of the plane (turn or braking)

Also, when I am in the air, just a very small movement of the controllers (while holding the virtual yoke) translates into a massive movement of the yoke.

2. I tried to map the Center View control to one of the Oculus controller buttons but it would not take. My reason for needing this is to recenter my cockpit view using a controller button instead of the keyboard because when using my Oculus controllers to fly, I must be about 2-3 feet away from my desk (where my keyboard is) so I dont hit my desk by accident when I am controlling the various items in the cockpit (like the flaps). Is it currently possible to re-asign the controler buttons using the remapping screen within the game?

Thanks again, keep up the great work!

The sensitivity can not be changed on the motion controllers. We may make an adjustment here and there but it reacts very much like the real life counterpart. If you notice, the Cessna is very sensitive yet the larger jets are more sluggish, this is intended.

Currently, you can't bind any of the open Touch buttons because to make this work with the Vive as well, the Vive doesn't have these buttons. We may add functionality to the Touch buttons down the road but just not yet.

We will continue to meke improvements to this feature so it will improve in time.

Thanks for such a quick reply Jeff!

"but it reacts very much like the real life counterpart." Maybe so, but with a real one your hand has a solid-ish wheel/stick to hold where as here we have our arm floating in the air which makes it move around more than in real life which has us flying all over the place. I'll practice more and see how it goes before fully putting my views over.

Fully agreed. I love the Oculus-touch support but it's really difficult to handle (compared to "X-Plane 11" or "VTOL VR" for example).
Please optimize it because I don't want to change to the other sims as your sim has the best graphics and performance in VR

I like how each plane has different sensitivity

at least with the touchpad control I think it would help if you could customize the size of deadzone so you can put your thumb down and ease into the motions.

I hafta agree. At a certain point "as real as it gets" and "But i'm not in a real plane, i'm sitting in front of a computer in my home with no tactile feedback" need to cross paths and meet near the middle in the spot that says "enjoyable experience" :steamhappy:

I've found I'm getting used to it. it works great in some aircraft. All I have to do with the Cessna is move my VR view a little more forward than usual. And as my chair has comfy arms, I find i can rest my elbows on them and my arms are more upward than painfully outward. Works well

I've flown a real Cessna and the yoke is not at sensitive as the Oculus Touch. Just allow yourself a learning curve.

I have found a solution to sensitivity, the cure is available on Amazon - it is called Logitech/Saitek Yoke.
