MAC users - Black Screen When Starting The Game

For you MAC users that seem to get a black screen when launching the game.

You can hold the alt key when you press play in the steam client, then a launch window will appear. Select windowed mode and later you can change it back to full screen in game.

Black screen when starting up game.

So I start up the game from steam and it's a black screen. The music plays and I can hear that I can select things. I'm on a macbook pro 10.10.5 Yosemite.

UPDATE:
I managed to navigate, by using the sounds of the menu, to change it to windowed and that fixed it for me! Still a bit frustrating to deal with. :P

What do you mean by pressing launch in the steam client? How do I get there? Thanks!

Hi, sorry I meant play and holding the alt key when pressing it.

hi. i might be really late, but, i am on macbook air, and everytime i launch the screen becomes black, then dissappears. the application is open, but... it just isn't there. invisible... i can hear a slight sound of clicking when it opens; and my cursor change's to the games deafult cursor, but whenever i click randomly, it just goes back to the normal steam screen... honestly, i'm confused, and i just want to play the game. :(

Sorry to hear you're experiencingen problems with the game. Did the solution above help you int this matter? Holding the alt key and selecting windowed?

When i hold the alt key and start up the game it does open the window and i do select windowed, but it says that paws crashed and just brings me back to the original game which has a black screen. How could I fix this?
