What actually happened to H1Z1?

What killed this game? I remember when people would fill the game and some of the best games of mine were spent here but it's not even a shadow of it's former self.

ill never forget all the times i had......but.....it kills my heart to see it gone because i was theyre number 1 fan.....they let me down to nothing

The devs gave no ♥♥♥♥♥ about the game when it came out and were milking the cases for cash. I remember for the longest time you couldn't even spectate when you died in squads. The game got taken out by games that filled all of h1z1s flaws. They had the spot light and player base but blew it big time.

I feel the downside of the game became when they focused more on monetizing the game in way of loot crates over actually implementing QoL changes, the lead designer (i assume) left to build a different game that wasn't as focused on this in the form of PUBG. There was also the transition to the new gun mechanics and Z2 map with no fall-back to the Z1 map with the new world implementations. I really did enjoy this game even with all its quicks and bugs as the gameplay was pretty fluid and fast paced. The attempt to make it an e-sport didn't really help either.

It would be awesome if the game got revived and had some of the older features or play style; but I didn't really mind the new Z2 map/implementation that much.

when they decided to change the whole game in general, everything from the guns recoil, how they shoot in general, player movement, map, everything basically ruined the game that was once good.

The weapon update ruined the easy 2 tap shots, also tehy just did milk teh game at the end and let it down

games a lost cause sadly theres a game coming out in July called Anarea Battle Royale its pretty much a remake of H1 pre season 3 thats what were all waiting for right now

They sat on their unfinished, early access game until competition came out, and then they couldn't fix their game in time to compete with other battle royales out there. They also fully released the game and then 10 days after they made it free to play and refused to refund people who bought it.

the thing is no one will come play unless a really big streamer do because when people think about this game they only remember when they wrecked it

September 2017, "Combat Update" new gun the "Hellfire", new V shaped recoils, new shotgun, new meta, all the great streamers and pros left the game
