Can't re-enter the game

First time I successfully launched this game, play for a bit and left. The second time I couldn't enter the previous game. The game starts, shows me a menu and after I press "Play" menu disappers and that is all. I see the main village screen. I can press ESC. the game shows me menu again, I can watch and change settings, watch credits and so on. Any options except "Play" work fine.

What's the problem and how can I fix it?

This sounds like your save game has been corrupted in some way.

Can you send me your save file? Which platform are you on?
