IS ENHANCED DEAD

From what I've seen so far over the past few months of playing it seems like almost nobody plays the enhanced version in both the American and Eurasian servers. I will usually see maybe one game open but its usually just someone playing with their friend. Other than that its pretty empty. so is the Enhanced version dead?

It has been confirmed that they aren't even working on any new updates or patches.

Klabater took something beautiful, drained the life out of it and left it there to rot. That pretty much sums it up.

I guess you'll need a Xbox to play Heliborne EE. But I don't know the player numbers there...
As for the PC there is only the original your way to fly.

The Enhanced version was a developmental mess from day one. After receiving bad reviews the Klabater devs re-activated the original version and then asked players to change their negative reviews into good reviews. In other words thank us for giving you back the version you originally paid for and we didn't develop. It's too bad. The original game is still enjoyable and the community is terrific. But don't expect anything new to be added.

Yes, don´t get your hopes high for any further additions to HB.

IMHO Everybody got more than what was paid for (I got far more than that out of it).
Maybe simply ... try to enjoy what we got, whether EE or not !?
FWIW and IMHO If you want more then there is of course always DCS World ... a.o. the AH-64D and Kiowa are around the corner. The Hind is now available in EA.
But if you want sheer fun then stick to games like Heliborne (DCS helicopters are still -to me- a bit too difficult to really 'enjoy' for my taste, having some of them. I'll try to fly the DCS Longbow, but I except it to become the most difficult helicopter module ever !).

An interesting view. At times I had the impression that for a few particular players it is more about hating and complaining then about the state of the game itself. All I ever paid for was Heliborne in EA plus a few DLC skins. I got EE for free (which I can´t acually play, granted) and a lot of other skins. So, personally don´t feel I need to complain.

I think most people, and veteran players in particular, still enjoy the original version for what it is. That's not the problem. The problem is that Klabater has wasted the great potential of this game. That's why people are frustrated.

When JetCat was still in charge, they were at least providing new content once in a while. Granted, the updates were not very frequent, but at least there was an effort being made to not let that potential go to waste.

I've accepted the fact that there won't be any further additions to HB. However, Klabater deserves to be called out for taking over the game and all but ruining it with their Enhanced Edition. Remember, it is thanks to the players who spoke out against this BS that the original version is even available today.

So, yes, you got the EE for free, Chairborne. But if it had been up to Klabater, that's all you would have right now ;)

I do understand people complaining and why. I too had great expectations when the EE was announced. I do not consider the EE to be bad, it's only that, indeed, the Original Edition was that great ! But even if Klabater were to announce an EE2 I guess I would be willing to pay for that and keep fingers crossed (this game is in fact too cheap anyway). But as always ... YMMV (and according to most comments here it sure will!). Anyway, I was not trolling ... me advice is simply to move on. Even great games fade away or become less relevant in time. If you dislike that fact and like flight simulations a lot there are other options like DCS World (with incredibly detailed helicopters and true-to-life FM) and also the IL-2 GB/Blitz-Tobruk series that even span over/are supported for decades and thus are exceptions to an unwritten rule.

I'm in full agreement with PT. I enjoy this game very much (the original). I don't play any other multiplayer games because of past toxic community experiences. The gaming community here is superb and fun to intermingle with. From Americans like me to Brits, Poles, Russians, Czechs, Ukrainians, almost every part of South America....a virtual world wide V-8 cocktail. Sure there's the occasional douche bag but statistic-wise they're few and far between. But Klabater showed some promise and I was hopeful only like many to be disappointed in the long run. And you can't tell me Klabater is none too pleased with the money dumped into the EE and having it fail so miserably. I'm just sorry to see what promised to be a terrific and very marketable game (that isn't as complicated as a sim) be left in the dust.

I still think they should try to sell it to another developer and cut their losses. They're already producing other games so they can channel their money there.

Your point makes sense - without the uproar of the community we´d be stuck with EE. But for me the bottomline is: I have Oldborne, it works and I don´t feel any need to complain.
