Ironman Mode - Bermuda Triangle Connection

Not a single Ironman character gets saved to my character lists regardless of whether or not they die. As soon as I exit from the map to the main menu they do not appear on the roster. I have even tried saving the game mid battle exiting directly to desktop and coming back in. Anyone else having this problem?

Iron man mode is known to be broken. I haven't personally found a way to fix this.

Does any one know if this due to the user made 'patch'?

It has nothing to do with the fan patches. It's down to the game not liking something that the newer OS's do, which Windows XP didn't. When an Ironman Hero is created, the game is meant to write a registry value to mark whether the Hero has been slain. This was done as a measure to prevent hack abuse by players simply copying their HeroData.XCR before a game and pasting it back if their Hero died - essentially reviving their Ironman Hero.

However, newer OS's aren't happy with the game writing this and prevent it form doing so in most cases. I say most cases because it appears some people have it working correctly on more modern OS's, so there's some window's setting somewhere that acts as a magic button that makes this all work. But I have yet to find it. All I can say is that I have Windows 7 with "full access" enabled for the drive WBC3 and My Documents are stored on, I run the game as an administrator and it still won't work for me.

But I'm not too bothred because I run The Protectors mod and play using Bronzemen Heroes, since the mod has revived those other WBC2 options.

the new game exe is made for the 1.03 version of the game for it to work with ironman so give it a try updating my guide for it.
