- whoa ! 'Many times' on GOG ?
Thats heavy, dude.
Also WBC1 and 2 are vastly superior to 3. :p
more new races didn't made the game better with everything else what made these games superior left behind.
I still feel like commiting suicide when seeing a Minotaur/High Elf hero being able to necromance, while they absolutely HATE the undead.
Same goes for the hero leveling system. Gone are the race specific traits that gave both character and lore.
The added units and the visual revamp of buildings feel like they don't belong in the game. There's just something off about it.
The streamlined leveling system doesn't make units feel as powerful and unique as before.
Races having character is what WBC made WBC. They sacrificed that for streamlining and quantity. And character grows more important the more content you add to the game (humans split, 3 new races).
THey have character due to their skills . . . Each side has unique buildings, and nothing is shared, there is a lot of content which makes everything unique. Removing limitations actually adds to the customization, and who cares, this is not D&D. You can have a High Elf Necromancer, the differences in the side are better, humans were over saturated and I like the fact that humans have different factions. High Elves are still high elves, and they feel like you're playing High Elves. A High Elf Necromancer doesn't suddenly change this immersion.
This is more in line with Warlords Lore, as there are many Knight factions and human factions that don't fall under bartonian, Sirian, etc. You have no idea what you are talking about, I am been following Etheria since the 90's!
I've made my points as clear as I could at the moment. And you don't seem to understand it, or even refuse to.
You don't if you claim that the sides don't have any personality or distinction or they're just fluffed and "streamlined" in a negative light. WBC3 is objectively more streamlined in positive ways(AI improvements, User interface improvements, balances with new patches, timed summons, etc), the game is cleaner, the game has more variety, and with the latest patches more balance. It also has a ♥♥♥♥ ton of content more than WBC2 or 1, and I am sorry, but I disagree with the old way of making heroes and much prefer WBC3's. In this case, limitations does not add anything to the gaming experience, and the RPG element of the game is incredibly deep with or without it.
ˈstrēmˌlīn/
verb
make (an organization or system) more efficient and effective by employing faster or simpler working methods.
They streamlined the user interface , don't see how I used this word incorrectly. The person that used this word incorrectly was you, because you acted like streamlining something was a negative thing, when making something more efficient can hardly ever be said as a negative quality.
all these many personalities and distinctions you are talking about was just mixed colors, scrambled numbers and new names.
story/single player was poorer in quality and originality in each game.
