This was actually something the old mod team wanted to do before they disbanded (the 2 people who were mostly incharge were Linux users). They said at the time they would need to do a hell of a lot of work to get it to run on anything other than Windows as the game was said to be too dependant on Windows specific opperations.
But this was of course over 13 years ago, so it maybe easier now? (Or even harder! :p )
