Warlords Battlecry III

Game problems:The thread
I'm gonna reinstall this game and start keeping notes of all the problems I have with It. I'm 100% sure this is the verson sold on Amazon as the downloadable verson. Which when I bought It years ago was buggy mess.

I already have a few written down, that are Consentent problems with the game. Including other (balancing) Issuses.

I will keep updating my progress of what I see as "problems" with this updated verson of the game.

"Why?"

For newer folk this is not the oringal verson of the game,but a updated verson which was a mod.

If you go thou many theards you will find this out quickly.

TheSpaniad has dropped the ball as of late and has exposed the fact he worked on the mod.
Considering he was seceretive of this. Til most of the other people who played the Oringal verson left who where upset. This says he knows something is wrong, and is ethier is too prideful,too lazy or too greedy to fix It. I do not know nor care by this point. But, I have had It with his lying and Attemps to shut up people by throwing the "True fans" and "Entitled" card around. You aint gonna scare me off this time.

"What do you want?"

Either the First verson or the updated none broken verson. It is as simple as that.

As of now, I will start marking down the bugs and problems I know and ones I find in the comments section of this theard. If you want to throw some in you find go ahead.

And If someone tries to shut you down. Keep going with It.

Problem 1

"♥♥♥♥♥♥♥"

When a building of the player is being converted a message covers the screen. It goes "Your towers are being converted.♥♥♥♥♥♥♥." This is not need do to verble quos. But, also the unneeded "Edgy" part of the line.

Problem 2

"Crashes"

This happens usually around 2 to 3 games and sometimes before hand. The game will crash. This seems to connect to other problems. Might be coding related.

Problem 3

"Guard"

I Guarded a unit with my hero. To see what would happen. It worked like normal til I try to get the characater to move, at first I thought It worked like normal guard. Til,when I went to Attuide It still had It marked as Defensive. The Hero also refused to attack enemies to protect Itself while being near the tower the unit I told him to gaurd was in.

Problem 4

"Summons"

They have a time limit. Unless,you put them inside of a mine. Inside towers they still go away. But, units in mines stay their the whole time. I am gonna assume this is a oversight because summons as we all know are imbalanced and need to have a limit. Or It is not possible to remove summons from the mines without breaking It.

I still own the original CD version and use it. If someone could post a link to the download of the unnoficial patch, maybe I could up the original files they changed.

Also, if I remember well, the explanation I've heard for summons timer was something made to balance an overpowered build that involved summoning and ilusionist magic. The hero would summon several minions at the start of the game then use the illusion magic "transform" to transform the minions into generals and so he could win the game without any effort.

One of many OP strats, but yes, this is a big one.

Problem 5

"The Flickering"

Thou out my play thou the game It would flicker,not randomaly. Usually during loading of a level or cut scene.

Problem 6 "Summoning..again"

So, It seems the Lich gets a pass on his skill, His skeletions have no timer. Also, During a story missions one of the AI enemies summoned a dropship worht of speamen out of no where with no timers. Odd.

(For summoning ment to be balanced, It seems to be balanced only in one way. I'm gonna have to make a Demon hero here, and see If I can do the Ultmate. Horrible thing to do.)

Problem 7 "Undead...are unbalanced"

So, that summoning thing..uh,does not count for the Vampire or the Lich's summons. It does effect the demons. This must be a oversight of somekind. Cause, I kind of killed a enemies whole army and raised them then uped them to doomknights. That is not good.

It's not a bug, some summons do not have timers. Like Iron Golem's fire bombs and Goblin Captain's goblins. The reason? They weren't OP.

It's not a bug, some summons do not have timers. Like Iron Golem's fire bombs and Goblin Captain's goblins. The reason? They weren't OP.

Like, I would use Firebombs to littery cripple a whole city. And those goblins get booned base on their Captain's level.

And I just said, I turn those undead into doomknights.

Aye, Firebombs have a bug in every version of WBC3 apart from the Protectors where their aoe is counted as multiple individual attacks (unlike a Catapult's aoe), so if a building (which takes up a whole lot of squares) would be hit by them it would do hundreds upon hundreds of damage. It's not uncommon to be able to take out an entire building with just two Firebombs. I think the same went for Spores as well.

Why does the Ocules have a time limit? I mean they can not even attack you?

Also,um..not sure about countering I mean unless you have a aoe spell they are gonna dunk all over you.

The game is not originally like this. Unfortunately, a poorly-made user patch added in all the "edginess." It was made by a high schooler who thought he was funny. He's not. He also added the summons time limits as well as a bunch of other nerfs that made the game very much unlike its original release. I'm really sorry that patch seems to be mandatory. The original 1.03 patch was just fine before it got ruined by the Jodwin.

The unofficial patch members apparently forgot the '♥♥♥♥♥♥♥' thing was still in when they released it. Not entirely sure how they forgot, but fortunately that one is an easy fix as it's just a string in a txt file within the game's English folder. What amazes me more is that GoG seemed to forget about it too when they got 1.03.23's source and made 1.03.24... Or in fact that the Steam copy has this as well.

Forgetting and laziness are 2 different things.
