Anyone tell me more about Warlords series (turn based ones and real time ones)

There is little info on the games other than Wikipedia, so I thought I asked here.
How are those games, which ones are good and if they hold up today.

WBC series or Warlords series?
Warlords are turn based strategy (4 sequels)
WBC are real-time-strategy (3 sequels)

I did like both, TBS and RTS... but over time I more inclined to the WBC III. The dynamycs and wide combination spectre of skills/spells/armies did thrill me, and the replaybility was pretty high.

Funny fact, Warlords had better campaigns IMO.

Nevertheless, nowadays all Warlords games experience issues on new OS. And despite that till now many good people are working on fan-made patches (and even free-to-play stand alone mods), WBC may be a tricky game to play.

Hard to write about Warlords and not make it 5+ pages.
It is a good series and worth trying out.

I played strategy games mostly for the campaigns.

Well, the first comment says a lot, couldn't do better. I prefer the old Warlords II. It has huge tactical possibilities but you can also play it without any knowledge. That is what makes it so epic.
I still play it, it is just too bad that it doens't work on any windows after win xp.
You can play it via DOX Box.
There is a nice version (the only offical version) on App Stores.

Just to let you know how it looks like. You may find tons of games if you just look for "warlords" ;)

Just keep asking if you need more info. To me it is still the best Strategy game so far. I never become tired of talking about it! ;)

Most people like Warlords 3 DLR and it is very good but still prefer Warlords II

Try Warlords Battlecry 3 Dark Lords Rising and Warlords II and you'll see, both are amazing games. Can't tell you which is better, it's up to the mood you are in. Good to have games that reach such high levels :)
