Protagonist redesigned?

I don't own this game; haven't played it, haven't watched any videos or anything. However, from way back like, 2+ years ago when I wishlisted it in EA, I recall the protagonist being a blonde girl, and a fair bit younger (in appearance) than the current player character. Am I imagining things, or was she changed?

Other images from before the game was even on Steam show the protagonist as distinctly brunette.. the "nightclub" images for example.

They changed her voice actress since then too... I loved the first one so much better D:

When I first started playing the alpha build, Daphne had different-looking feet, with red toenails. I believe her fingernails were red as well. In a later update, her feet were changed for the worse, along with her right hand - when holding the compass. (It actually looked like her fingers were dead.) Thankfully, another update fixed her hand and feet, so that they look much better. But she no longer has her red nails.

Also, the inventory picture used to show Daphne standing still, with visibly dirty feet, if you didn't have the shoes equipped. Now it shows her in a walking pose, with cleaner-looking feet, even while barefoot.
