WarBirds Dogfights

control of aircraft
When I engage another aircraft and begin to turn, i always lose control and spin out in just a couple seconds. Any ideas?

As a former Instructor Pilot in the USAF, my best guess is that you are stalling the aircraft. When you turn you lose lift so you have to pull the stick back, which causes you to slow down, which takes a higher angle of attack to keep the aircraft in the air. So have good speed, never turn level, always go up and down in a turn, and don’t pull so hard on the stick as you turn.
I always try to have altitude and airspeed above the other fighter before I try to engage. I will run away before I jump into a fight low and slow.
You should also go into the online training arenas, even if you don’t have a full subscription to WarBirds, and get instruction from our live Instructor Pilots on Monday or Thursday nights at 2100 EST, USA. They can teach you to control the aircraft in real time.
We do suggest you set up the TeamSpeak 3 system do you can talk in voice with the Instructors. Download TeamSpeak 3 FREE from TeamSpeak.com. The IP and Password are on the first screen when you log into WarBirds online.
Good luck and keep practicing!

Very informative recommendations in regards to turning, Sir. I am having the exact same problem, but hadn't realized most of my turns are made with the expectation of staying level. Thanks for the tip.
