People icons?
What are these icons of a person standing by 3 people in the later chapters that have multiple ways to go?

Sometimes they have a red X through them.

Also, is it bad that all my chapter choices were the bottom option?

Great heartbreaking story of a savage and barbaric era of mental illness treatment.

I was wondering the same thing. I have chapters ?-11 (I think) one has one person Xed out and the other has multiple people Xed out. I know that there are different ways to go through the game, but I don't know what it means to have one or the other crossed out.

No, it is not bad. There are a few ways to go to the end. Depends on what for answers you give in 5 to unlock 6 or 6 a, and in chapter 11 to unlock 12 a / b / c / or d.

Red cross? I don't know, sorry.

I know that there are different ways, but I'm wondering if the multiple people icon is Xed out does that mean you see yourself as one person, and if the single person is Xed out does that mean you see yourself as multiple people during that part of the game?

I appreciated this game, but it would be great to get an explanation from the developers of what these icons mean. They aren't useful indicators of choice or narrative direction, as they only appear after the player chooses, so how are they to know what path to follow?

i am confused too, those icons are not so self explanatory, the one thing can figure out is that they are related to her inner voices

I'm not sure myself either but I'm guessing is it helps indicate her mental state and cohesion with the world (group of people) as the single body (her) is sometimes facing each other as if they see and understand one another, while others have the single persons back to the group (personal isolation?), groups back to her facing them (her wanting them but they've shunned her) and so on. But what it means beyond my guess here and that it shows what ur text options are and how they connect to endings is beyond me.
