Buffs are your friends too.
shame 50% resistence and 70% defense buff isnt enough
not that you can even get 50% res on every thing he could do at once anyways
It's possible to have resistances up high enough to take negative damage.
Different gear also buffs stats by different amounts.
If you can't get an elemental resistance, go for super high defenses and hp stats.
Having a high evasion stat can be useful too...
It used to be possible to have one character taunt enemies and tank all of their single-target attacks and take no damage either from being invisible or having a super high amount of health.
You could also be underleveled.
Gaining one or two levels will drastically change your stats and make the fight easier unless you have enemy levels scaling with your party.
im not sure gameplay basics are gonna be enough for this
- Since you said you die on the first turn, consider using gear with evade. Use Energy Drinks and item boosting gear for more than 60% bonus.
- Alternatively open with the Art Attack Limit Break (if you have it), which buffs all allies HP and Evade.
- Debuffing his accuracy will help with this plan too. ROBO/Pink Squid should be available to you - these have the strongest Accuracy debuff, but they also cost a lot of SP, so you won't be able to keep him debuffed for very long.
Choco Slime summon and Sand Dune apply a weak accuracy debuff too.
- According to wiki, Poseidon should only be using Physical attacks while affected by Berserk debuff. If true, you could abuse the Invisibility status. But I'm not sure if you can reliably make yourself invisible at this point - probably only via Defending in upgraded Ninja gear.
