question about cheats and challanges

what the difference betwen circle and square?
I've been wondering for a while
is it that circle does not affect achievements?

Circles are toggles: you must select only one option from that section. Squares are checkboxes: you can check and uncheck anything in that section freely. For example, you can't have both one-player and three-player battles on at the same time, that wouldn't make sense.

Cheats/Challenges that don't affect achievements are marked with a '*'.

Circles are used to indicate a Cheat/Challenge that has a confliction with another, and they cannot be used at the same time (Players Act First and Foes Act First for example), while the squares are used for anything without confliction and can be used with everything else.

Challenges are not marked with "*", only Cheats are (and those only disable Epic medals from being acquired).
