Can I get epic difficulty medals in new game plus or not?

I’ve seen some inconsistent claims so I wanted to check. I know it didn’t used to be possible but then 2.0 might have made it possible. Are there like any patch notes or proof anyone has seen?

As far as i can recall, medals are only disabled if you enable cheats in the cheats/challenges menu in the options panel. Before 2.0 a new game would disable medals if i remember right.
