Tips for the final boss
So basically I went through the pain of getting every single achievement. Thing is, seriously stuck at the final boss now. Problem is, his attacks are somewhat widespread in terms of elements(explo, fire and earth, as well as bio on tentacles) and a large amount of debuffs (confuse, scorch, virus which spreads back to boss and make him almost unkillable bdw). Any tips on atleast a build for him that would take care of virus disaster and confuses, as well as not making all of his abilities oneshot(or deathdoor at 50% resist), and general tips on how to approach him.

Anna is my favorite character among them all since EBF 4 so I will start with her:
Equip: Gaia's gift, Dark bobble and Camo skirt
Reason: The bow gives her regenerate (always useful) and increase her chance to apply status effects and sometime I've used her to apply weaken to the Devourer so this is useful too but mostly is for the dark and earth res, the bobble are only for the dark res (she may be on the field when the Gigalith self-destroy) and the Camo is for more poison res, confuse res and, most importantly, the medipack, which should combo with the bow.

Badge: Battle paint, Pocket watch and Green cross
Reason: Just my standard setup, change it as you wish
Note: She have confuse res so I keep her as first character, this way I can switch confused characters if needed and avoid wasting turns.

Natalie
Equip: Dark tooth, Rubber duck and Dark gown
Reason: My standard setup (except for the Dark bobble), gives her lots of dark res and let her dispel while applying invisible, the Rubber duck is to increase the efficiency of 7th Heaven, star power and defend (yah know, Dark gown).

Badge: Lucky clover, The tr*force and Fairy
Reason: Standard setup, Tr*force to let her spam 7th Heaven and keep everyone buffed, fairy to keep her alive (especially when defending) since she's the one with the revive spell for me.

NoLegs
Equip: Steel buckler, Captain's hat and flame suit
Reason: Standard setup, give him dark, earth and scorch res, with the sword he can counter attack with Blade blitz (used to apply curse) and the armor and hat increase the chances to apply it, plus I use him for reflex and the armor can boost it.

Badge: Crossbone pin, Lucky fish and cat tail
Reason: Standard equip, the Crossbone pin is essential to apply curse, the other can be swapped with whatever you wish.

Matt
Equip: Devil's fork, Genji helmet and Hipster shirt
Reason: Helmet for earth res, weapon and armor to boost buffs (and dark res) because I use him for Heavenly shield (plus he have Temper and Ragnarok, that boost physical attack).

Badge: Silver cross, Small cloud and Peace badge
Reason: Dark res, full recharge on SP when the Gigalith die and a chance to apply weaken, when the Devourer appear he start hitting him with unleash non stop, sadly the weapon is not of much help but I haven't found anything better except for the love blade (dark res) but it reduce the physical attack way too much...

Lance
Equip: Shadow Blaster, Dragon helm and Officer's coat
Reason: Dark, earth and scorch res, chance to apply brave and a massive boost to dark spells, yes, I want that b**** dead as soon as possible and with that much dark res he can survive his own Black hole, If I can use this setup to deal 36M damage I can use it to almost kill the devourer, am I wrong?

Badge: Gold star, Surgical mask and Balance badge
Reason: He must hit as harder as he can, the Surgical mask is a reminiscence of a previous tactict, if you do it well there will be no poison nor virus on the field so change it with whatever you want.

This is what I use, hope this will help you save the World (?), good luck!

I don't know how other players fight him but this is my personal approach, the solution I've found after some trial and error to kill him:
(Note that I play only on epic so this should work on any difficulty)

Before killing the Gigalith I summon the Viking monolith with Anna and kill it with Matt (because he hold the small cloud badge), this will refill the SP bar and when the Devourer appear Natalie will use 7th Heaven to heal and buff everyone, now with the 3 turns left I unleash every possible limit break, in order: Matt with Ragnarok (AoE and crit buff/protection), next NoLegs with The Creator (AoE and good luck status) and last Lance with Ion Cannon to finish those who have remained and with a bit of luck stun the survivor (if there are any, usually just a tentacle), at this point he is alone and his attack while still powerfull are way more manageable and I try to apply as soon as possible weak and curse to weaken him even more, weak is particularly important! Now while the debuffs do their job I bring his HP to something like 6M and use a chili pepper to recharge Lance (if I'm lucky the Gigalith will drop one), when he is at around 6M is time to setup the second combo, if he have enough weak (at least 3 stack) and -30% magic defence is time to put Anna, Natalie and Lance on the field, Lance will summon the Viking monolith, Natalie use star power on Lance to charge his magic attack and hit the Devourer with a normal attack (I use the Dark tooth so she can apply invisible but you can use a summon if you have enough SP left, maybe is better), Anna use lumber to apply stagger (yes, lumber on an invisible Devourer if you use the Dark tooth otherwise you will burn the stagger but if you use the summon you can apply the stagger first) and then Lance will use Black hole on the Devourer, usually this burn quite some millions of HP and kill the few helpers on the field, the only thing left to do is healing the party, to do this I use encore (I have it on NoLegs so I switch Anna with him) and pass the turn to Lance or Natalie, or use Sushi cat!, based on the battlefiled conditions, after the combo the Devourer have so few HP left that he skip a whole phase, don't use the skill that cut the earth in half but immediately delete it (and don't have time to refill the field with his summons), at this point I just nuke him with whatever i have left, things like judment, antimatter flux and whatever is holy/darkness and magic to make full use of the remaining weak, curse and invisible status. With this strategy usually there are no cutted tentacles since I just apply weaken and ignore them, so no virus for him to recover and the eyes are immediately syphoned by Natalie so he can't recover from the debuff, so far have always worked, I've used only the steroids I've found along the way (never bought one) and my team is level 36 so this should work for you too, if you want to know the equip I use just tell me, good luck!

This seems like it could make the fight much more bearable, yea. Although equip build would also be good to know so I could see which reisistances are more priorotized in the fight.

Also heard that, if you escape, cosmic gigalith's max hp reduces. Is it worth getting a save past the monolith?
Laplace93 Feb 14, 2019 @ 9:30am
That's true, it passed from 4M HP to 2M for me, which made testing tactics against the Devourer way more doable and for me it has been worth it, now, gimmie a moment and I'll write what equip. I use.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

This helps quite a bit, yea, will give a shot to the build tomorow.
Question is, why do so many people build dark resist anyway when this boss has literally no dark attacks?
Laplace93 Feb 14, 2019 @ 11:41am
I personally do it only because the Gigalith self-destruct when you kill it and I want to be sure that everyone will survive the explosion, if you keep the buffs high enough there's no need for particular resistances against it, as for the Devourer the only res I care for is earth, his tentacle attack have killed someone pretty often for me so now I keep an eye on it, for the rest once the weaken and curse have begun making effect there's little to worry about since the eyes will be syphoned, the tentacles weakened and everything else will be annihilated in few turns.

Curse and weaken would make sense, the reason why I didnt focus those is because eyes always kinda cancel it out, and those are way too tanky to take down, so siphon would help alot of them, too bad I havent realized that sooner.
And tentacles was my least feared attack, actually, since I abused invis taunt through the fight which helped me get all the way to the [deleted] phase.
Also tentacles are like 70% physical and 30% rock so resist kinda helps but barelly, on paper anyway.
Laplace93 Feb 14, 2019 @ 12:23pm
Only 30%? Now I'm happy I've raised it only to 50%, obviously it wasn't even worth that much after all, oh well, it helped Natalie survive anyway so that's ok, anyway, the invisible+target tactics really work? Seen the various AoE attacks and the laser beam I thougth it wasn't worth using, even if it did a realy good job against Annabelle and God.

Invis+target is weird for this boss, since tentacles is the only fully physical attack, while all magicals are AOE, so target wont help. So its good but is a potential instakill without resists(although I still think ninja armor for invis and headband for 80% magic def is best combo)

Anyway, this run for some reason went even worse than mine. Might be me taking things too slowly, but this time I tried to make use of weaken. Thing is, there are eyes out there to just simply cancel it out and replace it with buffs instead. And since killing every body piece is quite a hustle, thus I try to make do with syphoning them. Problem is, boss has a mass heal/debuff cancel skill which gets rid of it, after which eyes become active again and just cancel everything out.

Good god this boss is a pain in the neck.
Laplace93 Feb 15, 2019 @ 5:15am
Yeah, you must be quick with this strategy, after unleashing all the limit break I give him just the time to summon max one more tentacle and eye, the curse reach its peak efficency after 3 rounds (-30% magic def) so I try to bring his HP to 6M as fast as possible so he don't have the time to refill the battlefield, I try to do it in 4-5 rounds, at this point I begin with the second combo, the point is nuke the Devourer after all.

I used almost the same for Natalie, but instead of Dark gown I used Casual skirt - to boost up 7th heaven even more. Also, instead Lucky Clover i used Pocket Watch to obtain haste status more often and to do more for defence.
For all characters, i equipped weapons which counter with either holy or dark attack, so Devourer was losing his health quickly due to lot of counter-attacks, while my attacks was focused mostly on getting rid of tentacles and eyes (i started to push Devourer hard only when he deleted Earth, before this moment i almost never attacked him directly, only with AoE limit breaks and with counter-attack he provoked himselves).
And of course, Angelic Mirror summon when Gigalith is about to be killed or when Devourer charges his Earth split attack.
