Neon Valhalla help?
Just beat Lance, and went to fight the boss of the underground labyrinth (i always fight the challenge mode bushes right after the normal versions), but I just don't see a way to handle the Neon Valhalla as is. Is there a way to handle him at this point, or should I wait til I have stronger debuffs and equipment and come back then?

Yeah, you can beat him right out the gate... he's just one of the first bosses that really demand that you use STRATEGY rather than just wailing away at him. In this case, the key really just is to keep him permanently Cursed while maintaining offensive buffs on yourself. But there are already several topics here going into detail about strategies to use against him...

I did all of them right before the final boss, and it was an intense battle that threatened to wipe my team multiple times during it (granted, I was on Epic difficulty at the time). The biggest check for if you can beat it is if you can consistently defeat the bombs within the 3 turn period; if you don't have that, just come back later. The main strategy doesn't help with these, and they're important to defeat

The easiest way to beat him is to inflict Curse, Weaken, and Tired. If I'm not mistaken, I think you should be able to the badges that inflict the first 2 by that point in the game (and weaken can also be inflicted by Anna's holy arrow). Gaia Bloom will basically always inflict Tired, and giving him a 50% miss rate means you can spend less time on healing.

How do you actually open the temple of trials? It wasn't open for me.

You have to beat all the optional dungeons... but that's not really relevant to the subject of this thread. >_>

I sort of need to be able to enter that dungeon, find the Neon Valhalla, beat him on epic, only then can I come back and contribute to this thread <_<

Temple of trials is an end game dungeon available after you beat all the bosses in the optional ones.

Neon valhalla is in the second optional dungeon right after the lance story arc, youll see a dude in green military gear on the same map as a bunch of crying "fascist's" before you find the icecream slime warp point.

Isn't that the one I made a map of -_-' so I probably beat him already unless I missed him because it can happen .... at any rate I forgot to turn on epic for that dungeon so I'm hoping I can get him again in temple of trials. Neon Valhalla is in temple of trials right ... I hope.

Pretty sure he appears as part of the Boss-Rush there, yeah. AFAIK, all bosses except those who go on to join your team do. (So if you didn't face Anna or Lance on Epic, you're booooooned...)

The army gear is good for bomb resistance and the medkits that randomly drop from them can give you a turn to attack where you would had to heal.

Sit down in fetal position and cry, that's what I have been doing about it, honestly.

Genji Armor + Cataclysm on Matt pretty much kicks it's ass.

i beat it this morning; massive pain in the ass, you can see most of the gear i used here https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1583565037

idk what lance was wearing (because lance is relegated to backline most of the time for me), anna was the water bow, status dress (natts base iirc) and elephant hat to spam status (notably wet to amp matts thunder damage, but also stun/freeze barrages were useful with add spawns)

I did try this boss on epic difficulty and it was a beat to try without preparation. you actually really need to do more damage than it heals every turn and for this you need 1-2 guys being good at single target damage while 2 need to be able to deal with the respawning crowds. I think I also did use 1-2 cappuchinos on Natalie as she would be real squish. Tired status doesn't really do much on this boss as it's resistance to -Accuracy and -Evade is real high, but Weaken and Curse are highly demanded. In my scenario I used the Axe-Lightning type weapon for Natalie and she was both, single target damage dealer and AoE Lightning crowd damager, also applying curse on Neon-Valhalla and Anna, using her Nitro Arrow with both Bomb damage boosting equips(Camo Skirt and the Physical Bomb bow on the top right position). Anna is also needed to apply the Weaken status with her Holy arrow so she functions as damage dealer and debuffer to control the real high damage on epic difficulty. Matt I did use as tank and crowd killer, same I did with Lance and his Machine Guns + Oblivion Limit Break. Also I did equip on Matt the acc with +Freeze chance as weapon effect to freeze those nasty turrets(eventually) and give you some extra time if Limit Breaks aren't available and if you want to take them out 1by1 if 2 strong AoE skills aren't enough. No Legs is always useful to apply Bad Luck with the weakness to Water damage and additional AoE damage source. His reviving ability is also very important as the Ressurect skill comes to game real late. In this case No Legs was the Jack of all Trades and Joker in urgent situations.

Oh, and to Matt: THANK GOD(in this case thank YOU) that healing spells procced from equipment are smart used, giving heals those which actually need them. RNG for single target healing sucks and in EBF5 I like using randomly triggered Single Target heals just because of this smarter targetting.

My unprepared Fight against Neon-Valhalla took about 60 minutes btw and it was just tough to maintain enough damage and having the necessary Limit Breaks be ready, lost it with about 50k HP left on it. Optimizing Gear against its weakness and upping the required skills after farming some AP did it in the end.

I nearly got it down after preparing my best offensive gear and making sure Natz had the enchanted dress (for the chance of autocasting Slime Bunny), but ended up being overwhelmed when it started to use it's horn debuff my offense faster than I could undo the debuffs. Is there a way to prevent it from doing that or do I just have to debuff it even more to offset that?

two ways to deal with that, either use dispell from a bous skill to delete the debuffs, or just use the blue eyebot summon to reverse the debuffs
