Post-Game? Or do you need to do everything before facing the final boss?

I'm at the point where I'm ready to put down the four orbs and face the final boss... which obviously isn't all THAT final since there's a bunch of crazy bosses waiting in the Temple of Trials just next door! The question is, do I get some kind of 'free-roam' once I beat the final boss, so that I can work on grinding some more XP and money and finishing all the super-tough optional content and whatnot? Or do I need to make sure I've crossed all the t's and dotted all the i's before initializing the final boss fight?

just beat the final boss and after you beat it you are put right into new games plus so i would sugest getting every thing else you want done before you fight it

Mmkay... guess I need to start bulking up for the Temple of Trials, then. It looks to be a challenge and a half...

In the previous game, all the bonus areas (Battle Mountain there, but spread across 5 dungeons here) were mostly intended to be faced in NG+ since you lose all your progress in the area, but from what I've heard here, all the achievements related to beating a boss on epic are disabled in NG+ so I'd at least make a save file right before facing the final boss.

Or have a go at it right now and reload your save after you beat it (NG+ kind of sucks in this game; no level scaling). No need to drag it out or grind that much. I did it all in the public beta without all the side dungeons, so its not like you need to drag it out longer.

Beating bosses in NG+ should give epic achievement as normal. Unless Dev can clarify whether there are NG+ locked achievements.

It mentions that new game+ information doesnt let you get the epic achievements for bosses like you would from the normal playthrough. you can still reload a save from before the final boss and open the temple of trials and do the boss rush to get those achievements if you dont want to do a whole new game.

Doesn't that still leave you short a couple of achievements? I've heard, at least, that the 'Party-member' fights, like Anna + Mighty Oak and Lance + Valkyrie Tank aren't included in the Boss-Rush, but they DO have 'beat on Epic' achievements attached...

Also, when you say 'it mentions', do you mean that the game itself says so? 'cuz I've heard some conflicting reports about that...

Yeah ive got no idea on if the the achievements for making the party members relent to you are achievable are still on newgame plus, i havent gotten far enough yet, but yeah by "mentions" not to spoil anything of the ending, but it explains that this is the case right before newgame+ starts

Pretty sure someone said that the only missable achievments are the 4 for making the characters relent other than that you can achieve them all.

I can try to find the person who said it but I don't know if they heard that themself from the dev or where their source is for the info.

To clarify that's just speculation about NG+. If he did lock them out for NG+ then I apologize for that, I'm still not very far in the game myself.

That sucks...they might has well be none in that case, unless you start over at level 1 with the equipement you aquired, but im sure it's not a thing.

Kinda expected the enemy to follow your level like in 4...kinda dissapointed to be honest.

Ah, that should be interesting, if done right it might be even better that the classic ng+.

Im kinda curious what kind of challenges you have in mind...id just wait and see.


PS : Oh yeah, aparently your game did really well sales wise, i saw it in the top 10 selling games on steam for a short while when the game launched, quite amazing!

As soon as I beat the final boss, I went right back to Matt's house at the beginning and have to start all over again. I never even had the opportunity to access the Temple of Trials. What did I do wrong? Can't access the temple until you beat the final boss, but if you're stripped of all quest history, gear and companions, how the heck am I supposed to get to the Temple? I've got nothing except cards and summons now.
