CNY Flairs

So, the new Chinese New Year quest in the game gives 1 new ability and 2 new equipment pieces, which are Firecrackers, Lucky Fish and Coin Charm, which leaves 1 flair space and 2 ability spaces left. The new ability is pretty good when you want to catch creatures, but I'm wondering about the flairs that came with the update.

Of course, the flairs must be equipped for them to have an effect, but do I have to equip them on 1 or 2 characters that are currently in combat, or does it work if someone who is sitting on the bench has the flairs equipped as well? Like, are the effects of these 2 flairs an universal effect, or do they effect just the person who has them equipped, like most of the flairs in the game?

I ♥♥♥♥ing love your game series, Matt. Your game, alongside with another game in the internet that is Mobile Weapon, introduced me to the RPG genre, and since then, I have been in love with the games. Keep up the wonderful work, my friend!

Their effects are universal, as long as one of your characters (even if they're in backup during the entire encounter) has them equipped, you'll get the bonus.

Awesome, since I mostly go NoLegs-Matt-Natalie, I didn't wanted to remove any of their vital flairs.

Been a while since last time a played the game and today it updated.

You mean the red things that you need for the Lunar New Year stuff? It works the same way as the Easter Eggs (Easter), Candy Canes (Christmas), Heart Chocolates (Valentine's Day) and Halloween Candy (Halloween). Defeat any foe and there is a chance of them dropping the holiday-specific item. I'm not sure about exact numbers though

Just like sweets said, it is dropped like other 4 seasonal key items; defeat enemies to have a chance to gain seasonal items. Of course, it is easier to get them when defeating big enemies.
