Inaccessible chest?

In the stretch of icy corridor that leads to the arcade with GUOYE, there's a treasure chest by a ladder with no obvious way to get to it. Am I missing something or is it just there to taunt me?

go back out of that room, and look for another hidden entrance outside (it's a few tiles above one of the enemies closer to the normal entrance, believe it's a skeleton hand in the normal mode)
