Worth it?

Anyone that's played this think it's worth the current asking price? Loved Harvest Moon but am worried about the whole RPG maker issues such as not being able to do things like plant/harvest crops without just walking up to them and confirming it with a dialogue box! How's the actual farming?

The dialogue box is annoying, and will be mentioned when I manage to review this. The actual farming after planting, though is basically SNES HM level of simple.

Funny that you mention the dialogue box for farming, because I actually removed it in the final build of the game! As soon as I have a few extra minutes, I'm going to upload a new screenshot and a new version of the trailer. I really hope you enjoy the game!

I'd just wait till Stardew Valley comes out. It's coming out soon and has a lot more features and more polished than this game.

Yeah...no. Stardew Valley's artwork is attrocious, and the comment of features is debatable. I dont really care for multiplayer.

World's Dawn is infitiley more appealing to me.

Im nearly an Hour in and though I feel I have not done really much objectively, I def am getting lot of animal crossing/harvest moon feels, which I love. Music is pleasant, art design is neat (lots of lil things added to areas for detail which I find great. So far its exactly what I was hoping it would be, perfect mellow game, at my own pace things to do, idk Im liking it a lot. For 11-12 bucks I mean Im perfectly fine with that, I feel that asking price was absolutely justified with the clear amound of time put into this so far.

Well that's good news. I remeber when he announced the multiplayer thing, people got super pissed casue nobody asked for it, and it delayed the game for a year (or even more).

I'm with you on the MP, by the way. I think this genre probably works best as single player.

Though I still really dislike the artstyle. The actual games textures, sprites, are pretty great, but the character potraits are hideous. Much prefer the anime inspired ones of World's Dawn, and Harvest Moon.

I'm just waiting till friday to get this game if it gets more serious positive reviews. I love harvest moon games like this and I don't want to play another train wreck like Wild Seasons again.

Max, have you tried the demo? That's probably going to be better than reviews for you.

Though ignore the dialog box when planting seeds, WP confirmed in another thread that he removed it from the final build.

Farming's pretty realistic imo. Also, I would've totally payed $25 for this if it costed that much. I've been waiting for a farm/small town life sim like this for years.
