AC looks like Euro Truck Simulator, not very realistic.
You definitely have not played any 2006 racing game.

Assetto Corsa looks fantastic.

AMS runs on an updated version of the decade-old rFactor 1 engine, so it doesn't have the latest shaders or lighting. Having said that, it still looks excellent when maxed out and combined with the SweetFX shader (try "HRD Emulation") in the configuration menu. Reiza's next release (which is still in its early stages) will use a modern engine, so it should look very good indeed.

AC looks like TV... hovever if you look out the window thats not what you see as a human... AMS look more real when driving (if maxed out with 8x MSAA & 2x SGSS & sweetFX in HDR).... AC looks like a TV feed

ive had trouble with inspector with the new geforce update and drivers. So im just running max in the Nvidia CP. I used to run SGSS too but not in those screens.

I feel this way about a lot of the pretty games these days. Its not reality as much as the super reality of stylized film and TV.

Yes it has more realistic lighting and focal depth but its less representative of what a person or driver sees and more representative of what we see through the lens of a camera, and after post production. For first person immersion its not very immersive for me.

AMS still needs to make advances in lighting though and perhaps some texture resolution but its still pretty good for what it is.

Most games are like blockbuster Hollywood movies, not very realistic visuals (and not artistic for sure, they all have the most laughable fashion victim way of creating and selling things). You may say ok, it's not so bad, but it gets very very boring after a while (that means 0.1, 1 or 2 minutes <max> later).

In stills AC is ok, but when playing the textures are crawling and interfering, very unpleasant for the eye, especially the horizon, the guardrails and the shadows are very messy.
Perhaps in AC2 they get in control of the textures the lights and the shadows.

AMS doesnt look good at all , in my opinion .
