Hosting a game...
Hi, I would like to know how to properly host a game, when I try to create one to play with a friend it says connection not responding. I saw a previous discussion of somebody with the same issue but no solutions yet. Any help? thanks

You need to have a good to excellent connection to properly host a game. DSL or run-of-the-mill mid-range speeds on your cable package won't do. I have a 250mb download speed hard wired and it even gives me issues sometimes. Pretty much typical for P2P hosting.

There are more ports needed than what is in the config file. Scan for open ports related to AMS and open them if you want to serve.

If you open them all you will show up in the steam server list, on xperience lobby and in the game...

It is best to have a second computer running the dedicated server (steamcmd), with steam in offline mode (steamcmd login maybe enough). There maybe other ways but this works without connection issues and/or configuration issues and you can practice in the dark...

windows button, type cmd, right click on it and run as admin and type netstat. Look a the help for netstat - you want listening ports and the application. I can only think of the linux syntax. I want to say netstat -ab silly winblows... the super lol task manager has a network port thing... resource manager or whatever.

I've opened all ports, but nothing happened.
