Holy Crap the Tower Pack is Hard
I'm literally stuck on the second mission, fighting the nosalis. The amount of enemies they throw at you...without access to all weapons, is ridiculous. I know I'm in the tower tutorial, so not everything is unlocked, but they should make it easier so i can actually get to the TOWER PORTION.

I agree, I tried it and died all the time, I'm sure I have to learn it more to do it, but this continuous wave of enemies has never been good D:

it's not just that, it's that for a tutorial, it feels really unbalanced. Too many enemies, very few weapon choices, and not many options beside shoot and throw grenade

Yes very true, by the time I'm done with the 1st wave, I'm out of ammo for my AK-47 and wave 2 kills me :/

It is to the bone hard right off the bat.

But they DO NOT EXPLAIN YOU CAN BUY AMMO UNDER THE STAIRS at all. I played 10 times dying before I found you could get 3 packs of extra ammo, then it was just fine.

actually, i figured that out too, but i find that the second mission is EVEN HARDER, because you are no longer fighting soldier and therefore have no cover, no fallback, and are dealing with creatures. RIDICULOUS!

Reminds me of old DOOM levels almost, it's very very challenging.

The Nosalis second mission is brutal... I have no idea how to survive it since those damn wall jumpers constantly scream at me and the nosalis are like uber agressive, I mean by the time I go into healing animation blood runs all over me D: wtf even with all the claymores and bombs I cant pass it...

4A TAKE A LOOK AT THIS. I UNDERSTAND LINUX IS A BIG DEAL BUT WE NEED PLAYABLE CONTENT.
AlucarD Sep 3, 2013 @ 5:17pm

Well, people asked for hard, and they got it. Still waiting for mine to download. Slow internet. :P

Can't wait to play, though, the new missions add some unique flavor to an already tasty game. :)

I like to have a Challenge, and i also like that it is harder than the actual Main-Game or the other DLC, but the last Challenge, and there the last Wave .. nope nope nope.
Not enough that you shoot slower somehow in the last Wave with the Minigun, no, the Enemies need more Bullets to die, so you get swarmed by them, and then it is already too late.. screen gets red, and you die.

Like i said, its good that it is hard .. but not impossible!

yes I also like hard and challenging games like Ninja Gaiden or DmC3 but this is almost cheap hard because you get swarmed so fast and are ony equipped with crappy weapons D: how many missions does it even have in total ?

This DLC is complete crap. I'm just sitting here behind a pillar popping out every few seconds to attempt to shoot without taking TOO much damage but I'm garaunteed to take a lot. ♥♥♥♥ this, I can't believe they would sell this. It's only $5, but I feel like I got completely ripped off. This shouldn't even be free, it just shouldn't exist. The fact that it's hard has nothing to do with it. Even if it was easy it would still be utter ♥♥♥♥. You just watch hordes of mindless enemies swarm out of two hallways and shoot. I imagine this is what the next Metro game will be like after hearing that comment from that guy at Deep Silver.

I think its best to play on Ranger hardcore during the tower pack. I've tried all difficulty's and found easy, normal, Hardcore without ranger mode create spooges for bullets, unless you score a headshot, which isn't easy while being shot even with the minimal cover offered, also you can take alot hits in original modes. Ranger hardcore feels more reaI, causes more damage to the player and prey! I really enjoyed not having scopes to aim with. Plus the type of weapons offered are ones I never use in game(I use theTihar,Homemade Carbine for Ranger Hardcore) so this added to challenge for players. This is How the tower pack being described by devolpers.

For area with nosalis, I found .44 caliber rounds and 12gauge work best, as do MGR. Playing Ranger normal seems to cause more damage, but there a spooge element thats lesser then other types. Ranger hardcore during the tower are not showing in-game type bullet power, but causes more damage. Not as much in-game though.

If you were thifty with MGR during first and second human wave then those do help. 2-3 direct hits(not as powerful as ranger hardcore in-game).1 for a headshot which are hard enough when they're running or jumping for you.

How many shots from regular rounds does it take to drop a nosalis or computer generated humans( not including heatshots) are taking others? For me it seemed to be 2 with asbot( one if your 10 feet away, but this creates issues with the timing and slow reloading time) 2-3 with .44- Regular AK rounds take at least 5-8 depending upon distance.
