Metro 2033 Novel PDA file
I noticed yesterday that there was a free PDA copy of the 2033 novel, which was great news because I've been dying to read it!
Well, I downloaded it, and it shows in my DLC list for the game, but I can't find it.

I've verified the cache, which prompted the game to download a file. Still no luck. I rebooted Steam, the PC, etc etc.
As I've read, it should be in my steam game folder. I've navigated to the Metro LL folder and do not see a "Novel" folder anywhere.

Has anyone else experienced this, and does anyone know where to find this file cause I'm dying to read the book!

Thanks

Really? You should go to Steam --> Steamapps --> Common --> Metro: Last Light --> Novel. If it isn't there you should try redownloading it

It's not there ! I use the developer Steam build so I can install my games to a seperate HDD than the one my OS is on. I checked on the D drive that the novel should be in, and it's not. I checked the C drive to be sure, and it's not. My DLC tab on steam says I have the novel so I am really unsure why I can't get this.

When I go to the store page it says I already own it. When I click play it just launches the game. I'm lost.

Not sure what the issue is but oh well, thanks again Sorrik. You rock.

Thanks for the link Sorrik. My issue was that the PDF downloaded, but the file was corrupted and unusable. Tried verifying cache integrity, but nothing came of it and I had no way of redownloading the file. :(

BTW, at the end of the PDF novel there is a reference to a Metro 2034. What is that about?
There is a Metro 2034 book. Plus, you're supposed to check the game files... steamapps/common/whatever/MetroLastLight and it should be there

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I looked for the novel in Steam and found MLL but no book anywhere. I don't know what to delete to force the Store to try the download again and I'm not uninstalling.

I did look for both books in iBooks and found them in a half-dozen languages but English. I then tried Amazon and they have English copies of both 2033 and 2034... but now I'm not interested. :)
"looked for the novel in Steam"

That's my point. You're supposed to look in the game files, not Steam
Also, 2034 isn't officially translated yet

Sorrick- the file is just not there for some users (myself included), and Ratsneve likely means that he looked in the steam game files. Luckily a good Samaritan posted an alternate download higher up in this thread, but it would be nice if they fixed this.

Does anyone know where I can get the epub or mobi copy of the novel? I'd like to read it on my Kindle (it's not a Fire).
It looks like Metro 2033 is available on Amazon, unless it has to be something special (I own a Nook so I don't know if the Fire is different from a Kindle purchase).

Thanks, just got the game, Metro: Last Light, finished 2033 a long while back. . I had been trying real hard to find an English version of the book to purchase in hardbound but, that wasn't happening. :tradingcard:
