This might not sound as helpful as you'd like, but... you can restart the level anytime you want.

There's more than enough filters laying around the swamp to finish it, and you'll know where things are when you've tried it 2 or 3 times.

I'm not up to this part yet but if it's the demo video I saw on Gamespot then you need to follow the Red flags. In the very beginning of the game there are some people talking about that at a table.

What you're looking for is the ferry, it should be on the other end of the swamp. There is plenty of time to explore the swamp assuming you have enough filters, if not then it's worth running around and searching every corner because I guarantee you'll spend atleast 10-15 minutes in that area.

there is a way to cheat the filters but you can die still basiclly just jump in water every so often and youll start back at the begining of the suffacation

The swamp was frustraing.

Did you notice the compass on your notepad? Points the the objective, that might help you find your way.

Though addmittadly you have to be kinda frantic on this level... or stock up of filters before this point. I just do the latter when I play LOL.

When you start the level on the hill you have a nice view. You can see that spot from most of the swamp to get your bearings. There are stashes all over the place. They aren't necessarily obvious, thouh. There's what looks like a self storage place to your 9 o'clock. There's a stash in the tower, 1 in a building, and 1 in the back of a truck there. The gas station is about at 11 o'clock. There are some stashes there and the gas cans you have to check. Plane is further out to about 1 or 2 o'clock. Follow the flags to get there. There's 1 stash along the way (dead body) and a stash near the cockpit past the gas cans you need to check. Go across the plane's wings to get to a stash of shotgun shells if you need them. There are a few other stashes around, but it sounds like you better stick to the main landmarks for now.
