Stuck with no filters @ Red Square chapter
Just after all those dead people's hands come out of the ground and about to reach the building with the locked door (but before the sniper fight) I ran out of filters. Can't find them either. I have about 30 seconds before running out of air from the last save. I don't think I missed to find so many filters before this section and regularly had between 10 and 20 min supply. Is there any filters after the building with the locked door that can be reached within 30 secs?

seems like you are farther than me in progress. However I'm having 58 minutes of filters right now and I don't think I'm going to run out any time soon.

Go in to your documents folder, find a folder labled 4A Games. In this folder there will be another folder called Metro LL, then another with some numbers and letters.
(C:\Users\your desktop username here\Documents\4A Games\Metro LL\110000103114d77)

In that final folder is your save data. If you are loading from an auto save, just rename it to something like old_auto_save and it should use the most recent chapter save. Otherwise just copy one of the chapter saves, rename it as auto_save.

I had to do this on 2033 when I got stuck with no filters. Yeah sure I lost a slight bit of progress but over all it was worth it. I found more filters and was able to manage them better.

Seems I spent too much time fighting rather than bypassing/running through a section before this one. Sometimes I'm not sure if the developer wants to encorage exploration or simply doing something as quickly as you can. To me it looks like I'll have to go a way back and hope to find a pile of filters somewhere that I somehow missed. I was just watching the same section played on Youtube and it seems the player was comfy with some 30-40 min supply. Oh well.

Thanks! Will try this.

No problem. It can be annoying having to do that but it sure beats starting over completely.

I had no issues with filters personally, but i think the best way to 'fight' is to keep a silenced revolver around and pick everything off with a headshot. Its a 1shot kill on almost everything as long as you are udnetected.

Yep, stealth is key lol. Also running with the mask on tends to kill the filter faster, or at least it did in 2033. If this still holds true on LastLight, be sure to remove the mask for any brief running around outside. You have a good few seconds (I want to say 10 seconds, but I could be mistaken) before any side effects from exposure, this makes it much easier to manage your filters better when on the move. Keeping low and moving slowly will help keep the filters longer, since you are not breathing heavily. Running and jumping = bad business when wearing the gas mask.

It's honestly a part of the game. It can definitely be frustrating but I personally love it overall. You need to restart the chapter, go back and buy more filters, or edit the line to give yourself more filters. The choice is yours. Also I don't think running and jumping has any effect on filter time in this one. At least I haven't noticed that so far.

Good to know.

Made a few final attempts to run to the place where sniper fight takes place .. and finally barely made it .. found a dead soldier with the filter ... just barely made it (died twice just as I was grabbing the filter). There is one more filter there on another dead soldier .. gives you about 3 to 4 minutes. As you kill peeps that attack you and take their filters it becomes manageable to the boss fight. But the crazy run all the way was the most important. Glad that don't need to replay the chapter. Thanks for the help ... listening to your guys' advice was my next step ... but just got lucky here.

Got into the red square not only with no filters, but also with a smashed gas mask. First time I lucked out and bugged it out where gas mask was not neccessary. Well, one time lucky ain't enough. If gas didn't kill me, bullets did. Now I'm well and proper stuck in that death pit.
