'sci fi' is very muc the wrong term. its a post-acolyptic game with an intense focus on immersion & atmosphere, very well designed, graphically gorgeous 'corridor' shooter with some neat hub areas & a couple more open levels, there are a couple playstayles at yr disposale (stealth & loud). i would say its absolutely worth $40, & with watch dogs delayed, may well be my goty as well.

ha, ill take yr word for it, though i find that somewhat broad. i think most people hear sci-fi & think lazers, while this games tech is for the most jury-rigged scrap & leftovers from the cold war. didnt want to give the OP or others considering a wrong impression, but point taken!

GOTY 2013 won't release until Nov 5th. It's going to be COD Ghost. No I'm not a COD fanboy nor do I own any of the games, but I do know a GOTY when I see one. The Metro series is not AAA, despite the AAA graphics. Watch how fast the price drops on this game.

Not sure if serious. COD Ghosts?!?!?! I wish you could see me leling right now. Metro LL is AAA when it comes to graphics, story, and having a unique, immersive environment. The only thing lacking is character A.I. and that's not too bad. You sound bitter that you can't afford to buy the game or something. You dodged my p.s. Have you even played this game on a PC that can run it properly or even at all? If you aren't trolling me right now, all I can say is that you and I have VERY different opinions on video games. You'd have to pay me to play CoD Ghosts.

Metro Last Light is until now MY pc goty for 2013, its my opinion of course. Ive also enjoyed bioshock infinite pretty much. I dont know if Cod will deserve the goty status (since its not out yet),but its probably just the usual military shooter COD with better graphs and a new dog mechanic with the same "Russians are attacking us poor america story", while metro last light is an unique post apoc game with original mechanics different from most fpss ive played, it also has amazing graphs and sound and a nicely paced story. Its pretty AAA to me for such a small company like 4A, it sure has a lot of love in it. Im guessing Bioshock infinite will probably take most awards home.

I don't think Bioshock is as loved as you think. A lot of critics( some professional) have come out of the woodworks to say the game was overrated even on gaming sites like gamespot after giving the game a 9 out of 10 which is very hypocritical. http://www.gamespot.com/reviews/bioshock-infinite-a-fan-scorned/1900-6415464/

Maybe your right, i didnt think the game was as good the original bioshock but still has a very original setting, intriguing sciency plot and some nice characters, i enjoyed it pretty much, not as much as metro thou, im just a sucker for post appocaliptic and utopia stuff :) , I havent tried a lot of possible game of the year games this year thou

bioshock infinite is exactly the kind of game that critics will 'come out of the woodwork' for, though. thats one reason i want to finish a second playthru. with the story sweeping you along it was so overwhelmingly enjoyable in the first playthru that as time wears on you forget why you thought it was even a good (or great) game (i remember the story was awesome, but..?). so replaying bits & pieces, or even a full playthru knowing the ending, is going to lead to a lesser crtiical result. i just dont think thats entirely fair to bio inf, tho i am definitely in the 'its overrated' camp right now...if it even still is overrated.

it was also one of those very few 'event' games that had hardcore & casual gamers alike buzzing. for a single player game, thats really, really impressive, &, sortve like a hit tv finale, or a super bowl, theres a lot of additional joy in knowing that so many people are tuned into & enjoying the same thing you are at that instant.

We can all agree a good story or just a well told one can go a long way in captivating people or at least make them think and talk about the games. it surpasses the barrier of gameplay experience and taste between hardcore and casual gamers
