Anywho, sorry for totally being unhelpful. I am actually wondering the same sort-of thing you are: whether the game runs well or not. xD Do you get decent performance on Metro 2033? I do, but it's not without little hiccups, and I had to tweak a thing or two, because it had problems with stuttering and/or tearing. >.<
I think my CPU lets me down a bit on 2033, though, ... been discovering lately, as good as the FX-4100 (@ 4.2GHz) is (I max most games, including BF3 with 38-60 online, with 64 players, and 60+ offline @ 1080p) lacking. I'm currently trying to OC the CPU further, and so far seem to be fairly stable at 4.5GHz, which should make a huge improvement.
Do you know if Last Light is actually any good?
As for the performance, I was getting a stable 50-60 FPS (using their benchmark, I averaged around 62 FPS if I remember correctly) with everything all the way up (except for SSAA because it eats FPS without actually visually enhancing the game). Turning off the Physx will help quite a bit, and turning down tessellation will help more as well.

People need to stop asking about optimization becuase most of you have no clue what it even entails.
run great for me

Metro 2033 is notorious for it's poor optimization. What planet are you from?
Lyme, I feel the same way about the game too. I initially gave up on Metro 2033 many months ago, but decided to give Last Light a go and I was totally blown away with the sheer depth of the game. What i mean by that is, as the graphics are so good and the voice acting, that during combat where you can decide on stealthy moves or full out all guns blazing, the AI kept the pressure on. Knocking a can on the floor would make a noise and the AI would get closer and closer to you as you hid, whilst waiting for the best moment to pounce. As a gamer who's middle aged and who's been playing for many years, I felt totally immersed in this game, so much so I returned to Metro 2033 and this time played it completely through.

I set every Graphical setting on it's maximum, except I think Physx was set to normal. Monitoring GPU details via EVGA Precision (aka Riva Tuner).
Fantastic looking game though... DLC's just a tad disapointing for me, maybe because the game set a very high standard.
Game is sooooooo purrty.
If you need to get a performance boost, make sure SSAA is off. I took lots of screenshots and 1080p recordings and couldn't tell a difference between it being on/off. That will get you a good FPS boost. After that, I would worry about disabling Physx, but hopefully you won't need to.
As for the Vsync, personally, I can't remember. This Performance Guide[www.gamefront.com] has a screenshot showing the Vsync option, so I guess it's there.
and btw the physx here is mostly the same old silly chunks of debris that look more like an out of place tech demo than anything else.
