Is Metro:LL really that CPU/GPU intensive
Hi, i was just wondering why metro last light seemed to need a higher spec CPU/GPU to run smoothly than the store page requirements list. I have a fx-6300/ hd 7950 and this was the first game i could not max out everything. i could barely get a constant 30-40fps on high with aa and such on the lowest settings. Im not sure if i have ♥♥♥♥♥♥ parts, if the requirements listed on the store page are decieving, or if the game is just optimized for nvidia GPUs.

Please help :(

Your machine is quite enough to handle the game.

Make sure you have SSAA and advanced PhysX off.

I made sure to do that when i first booted up the game. These problems persisted.

You've only stated your FPS with the SSAA on. So what is your issue now?

In case it still isn't clear, one will need an overkilling machine to have a stable 60FPS in this game. Yours aren't one unfortunately.

Soo i guess the listing for reccomended requirements on the store page is misleading then, thanks Gabe.

Well if you think the "recommended" specs bears the meaning of running a game absolutely smooth under all circumstances, then you're probably taking it wrong.

the game is very hard on both cpu and gpu depending on the settings and where you are in the game. i can be at well over 100 fps turn the corner and dip way below 60. during the benchmark my 2500k at 4.4 is fully pegged at times and its a MUCH faster cpu than a 6300. SSAA will tank the framerate in spots even with a 7950 and should not be turned on if you want to keep framerate high. and of course make sure you have physx turned off in the game options.

and there are certainly some other games that your setup cannot fully max out either so dont know why you are saying this is the only one.
