However, Metro: Last Light is indeed one of my favorite games, and Metro 2033 is one of my favorite books. When I finished Metro 2033 I just closed the book and was like "holy shιt." lol.
I respect and thank Dmitry Glukhovsky for developing the Metro universe. He started writing Metro 2033 when he was 18, and since I loved it, he serves as a sort of inspiration for me as I am a "young" writer (well I'm in college, I'm not "young" per sey but compared to most writers I suppose)
I was very impressed ever since I played the original Metro 2033-Just something about the game that gripped me to it like no other was ever able too! I still play all 3 Metros on a regular basis lol. It might seem strange to some people but I can NEVER get bored playing these games for some reason. I do wish however that from time to time we would receive some new content or new stages-whatever you wanna call it.
Well long story short, one thing that I appreciate a lot is that Glukhovsky may have taken a bit of inspiration from Plato, regarding the metro universe and Artyom. It's possible not, and either way is fine, but I can at least see some parallels. If you were to read Plato's dialogues Republic and Phaedo, there are a couple of analogies which fit very well. One is about coming out of 'the cave' and trying to see the sun/light (coming out of the metro and shielding your eyes from the sun but then you can look around), and the other is about how a fish for instance would see the surface of the water as the sky, and the sky (when he pokes his head out shortly) as the heavens. The idea is that while we physically are on the surface, the sky's the sky, and the heavens are the heavens, mentally we may actually be a level down, kind of like the fish, unless we try to strive for wisdom, etc. In the cave analogy, there is one man who is able to see what the actual truth is as opposed to the images people see down in the cave--a bit like stalkers or Artyom in a sense.
But the Republic is 9 books/chapters long, and Phaedo is still a Platonic dialogue, so you might not want to bother reading them just to see some similarities to a video game lol!
I can see something like this happening (possibly) one day! A nuclear war breaks out which You have to admit in todays world is Very possible!!!......Minus the Tunnel-trash but we can replace them with HillBillys if ud like? (joke) other then the Monsters I can see a Metro type of situation in the very near future to be honest. Of course I dont want it to happen I have 2 children that I love more then anything in this world, but a part of me still has the Boy mantality and a wild imaganation. Thats why I love the Metro as much as I do lol.
I will do some more research on Plato, thanks for sharing that with me btw.
Iam curious Back in the day I use to run a program called FurMark to test my Radeon 6970 crossfire set-up, it was really useful for Radeon cards but Nvidia always had some kind of problem running this app for some reason. Some even called it a Power-Virus lol.Thoughts?
Good game, I'd say so. Best game ever made, definitely not in my opinion. There's enough to get you through the story, but you could only replay the story so many times before it gets dull.
Its still good to hear feedBack regardless if its negative.Thanks/Nz
Unless this one time you played through you did it on Ranger Hardcore mode, then I'm afraid you're quite narrow about it. If you did it on say normal, then you could try Ranger and Ranger Hardcore, try using the least amount of stealth you can, try going all stealth if you haven't before, and of course no matter what you did the first time around, you could only choose one option in any given choice; so playing through at least once more allows you to do the other. And I'm still finding new things on a 3rd playthrough here (on Ranger Hardcore)...
And then there's the extra missions, including Kshatriya.
I only played the game for the story, since I heard it was good, and I enjoyed it. Replaying the same story in different difficulites I don't much care for, as despite the hard work I'd put into surviving, the results will be the same as if I were playing on any other difficulty. Checking the wiki I don't find you receive any special reward for beating the game on harder difficulties, so there's not really any incentive for me to try.
Well okay then.
To me The Metro has many many wondeful things to see- Cool looking scenery, Awsome landscape, Monsters, a couple hot chicks here and there and so forth. Theres LOTS to see in the Metro we just have a diffrent opinion on whats interesting and whats not lol/.
Hopefully I didn't sound like a total fanboy before lol.
