Also it's a very immersive game, story wise and gameplay. Remember to play Ranger mode
I would recommend getting the redux as it gives a graphicly enhanced 2033 as well.
As for the redux thing, as far as I know, all you're really paying for is upgraded graphics and a couple minor bug fixes. The games already looks, and plays great without the Redux version. So, it's up to you on whether to pay extra for that or not
Yeah, have you also heard about that Star Citizen. What a console port, I could see a pixel on the dynamic lighting on the reflected mirror of my Constellation !
/sarcasm
Both Metro games are driven by story, in fact some people argue it is too chocked by story as it limits free exploration. Playing redux or original 2033/LL will suck you into the bleak, choking atmosphere of the Moscow Metro, seriously the atmosphere is so thick you will wish you were there.
The redux editions are just "HD" remakes of the original games, there is no real need to get them. Preferably one would start at 2033 to understand the story but LL does a passable job of introducting a player into the Moscow Metro.
Difference between Standard and Redux is in a few cases, cutscenes were added or changed, and the graphics where enhanced along with some scenery being edited as well.Performance Wise,Its barely a little more taxing than its predecessor.
