Bug and Error Reporting

Hi there! As this is our first game, we're sure there will be some bugs and other things to improve. Our goal is to maintain a high quality experience as we can, so when you begin playing the game, please post any bugs, errors, or problems you see in here to help us improve the game. Also if you spot even simple things like typos, feel free to let us know!

Hi, I just bought Shou's route (super excited to play, BTW) but it won't open. Says "failed to execute". I followed the steps suggested by the steam site, deleting the appcache folder and restarting the computer, turning off AVG and Skype in case they conflicted, but the game still isn't opening. Any suggestions?

Sorry to hear your having issues. What sort of computer and operating system are you using? Does the error message just say "Failed to execute" and nothing else?

Don't forget to include what OS you are using when making a bug report, it goes a long way towards helping me resolve the issue.

I'm using Windows 10. Do I need to list my full spec too?

It's not as important, but more information is always helpful.

Try verifying your game's files by right clicking the game, going properties, going to the "Local Files" tab, and hitting the "Verify integrity of game cache..." button. That might help.

It sounds like it might be a more general steam issue. How long have you been using Windows 10 and have you had any similar problems with other steam games?

EDIT: I tried to look up the game folder (E:\Steam\steamapps\common\Mystic Destinies Serendipity of Aeons), and weird enough the only folder there was '_CommonRedist,' is there really no other files other than that folder?

And then when I installed the DLC, there was a new folder named 'game' with these files: exBackgrounds, exSprites, & ShouRoute. Sorry I just wanted to confirm the game files since it seems weird that there was no executable.

Thanks for checking that. That's really odd. It looks like steam installed everything except for the base game itself. Could you check if there's maybe a second folder under the steamapps/common with a similar name?

It might be a problem with file permissions, in which case running steam as administrator might help. To run as admin exit steam, right click "steam.exe" in "E:\Steam" and select "Run as administrator", then try re-downloading the games files. (right click game and select "Delete local content...")

(How much space is left on your E drive? If it's less than 3GB or so it might be a problem)

There may have been a problem with how the game was configured on steam, which has now been fixed. Are you still experiencing the issue?

Hello! I'm currently playing chapter 2, but when I get to the part where Takumi asks if they want to sit together, I get a light blue screen error message. It will allow me to Rollback, but Ignore won't work, and I can't move past it. It looks like it can't find a background image, but I'm not sure. I also sent an email with a notepad file to the email Star Maiden Games gave me on Tumblr. I hope it helps! Also, I'm using Windows 10. Thank you so much!

It sounds like your installation is missing some key files. I've released a new update that should fix the issue. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Since you mentioned you wanted to know about typos, I kept a notepad by the computer to jot down anything I saw. Hopefully this is helpful to you! Shou’s route was so sweet and amazing that as soon as I finished my first play through I went back and played through a few more times to get all the endings…then I had to go back and see what responses I got for each choice I made…then I reread some of my favorite chapters/endings…*ahem* Just to be helpful and look for typos, of course. ;)

I believe these first 3 are all Tsubasa’s lines in the scene where she is deciding what to text Shou back (the first time he texts her):
• “I find myself inadvertently thinking back to time when he caught me.” Missing a “the” between “to” and “time.”
  
• “Maybe I’m a too little excited already…” The words “too” and “little” are in the wrong order.
  
• “The combination is enough to make me start laughing, which for me is a several minute or deal.” “Ordeal” is one word.
  
• This one is not a typo, but I noticed a little something when you have the 3 choices about entering the business club (Tsubasa is worried how the guys will react about the incident in the classroom). The lines for all three choices all end in some variation of “I push the door open.” Then the scene changes to inside the classroom and starts out with “I open the door and I’m immediately met with now familiar faces.” Tsubasa always opens the door twice.
  
• When Tsubasa tells the player about her father (I think at the park), it is phrased this way: “I am the daughter of Shinamura Industries’ CEO, Tsubasa Shinamura.” Placing her name right after CEO makes it sound as if her father’s name is Tsubasa. A clearer phrasing might be putting her father’s name at the end instead of hers. Or by saying something like, “I am actually Tsubasa Shinamura, the daughter of Shinamura Industries’ CEO.”
  
• “I look at Shou and see all of guys are here with him.” This is in Chapter 9. Missing a “the” between “of” and “guys.”
  
• This is near the end of the Passionate Ending. “He takes my hand and winks.” 2 lines later, “Shou holds out his hand to me and I take it…” Shou takes her hand twice. Unless you meant to imply he is taking her other hand and holding them both?
  
• This is near the beginning of the Dark Ending. Takumi is speaking to Tsubasa. “The words spill out of his mouth I barely have time to blink.” Missing “so fast” between “mouth” and “I”. Or break it into two sentences.
  
• This is near the beginning of the Mystic Ending. When speaking with Shinji he “turns in his chair to face me” twice. Same deal as the double door opening and the double hand holding. ;)
