Just in case anyone is interested, here are some of the differences between the two:
- Full Amethyst Mountain episode, which can be completed.
- Coat selection is limited to the original five pelts.
- Seven new howls, plus the original howl.
- Plus more improvements to the game.
The demo is completely free and can be played at no cost. However, some features are locked or otherwise unavailable.More information is available in this entry[wolfquest.org] of the WolfQuest FAQ.

WQ 2.7 costs $10. Is it worth it?[wolfquest.org]
Hopefully WQ's presence on Steam will attract new players! It's a really cute game for roleplaying as a realistic animal in maps modeled after real places. I recommend it as someone who likes games like The Endless Forest and Impressive Title/FeralHeart.
