hey,,, is it possible to download the first version of wq? i've seen only the trailer for it, and i cant seem to find any gameplay footage or anything.

or has it been forgotten?

Nope, it's not possible to download older versions of the game, at least not from the official website. The original demo was removed and earlier versions are usually removed when newer versions go live. The only exception to this is 2.5.1- http://wolfquest.org/downloads.php

Installers for older versions do exist, however those you do find around the internet would be something you're downloading/installing at your own risk. The few older versions I do still have seem to have some compatibility flaws on newer operating systems, so that might be something else to consider.

There isn't much left to show from older versions; I did compile some things to the Wiki's teasers[wolfquest.wikia.com] article, but it's not a great deal. As for video footage, I played around with Google's custom range tool. This is just a small handful of results from 2007-2012:

oh, thank you. i just got curious about the very first version, and i dont think i should be going around poking at sites with the older versions, because honestly i only trust the official wolfquest site with the offical downloads. i dont need viruses anyway, lol.

It would be fun to make WQ 1 available for the 10th anniversary, but as Nightangelwolf says, it won't run on modern operating systems. (I just tried it on Windows 7, and no luck.)
