Mission 9 glitch?

Hello all, I have tried mission 9 4 times now (each attempt nearly ending in a attempt to punch through my laptops monitor) and I cant seem to figure out how to complete it. 1 of 2 things happen. 1 destroy second laser and sends out two "probes", I chase said probes to the earth and they immediately run away and become microscopic while moving at the speed of light of which I can not hit. And thus the planet dies. 2 same as 1 where I try and chase the triangle to only get the planet killed from the death dealing illumunati because I "went to far", ya know because obviouly two pod races take prioritiy over the illumaniti with a planet sized ship-triangle.

I dont know what im doing wrong........im trying the most logical choices *sighs*........

I have the same thing. i tried to freeze time as soon as they are released and heat ray them to death but so far ive only managed to be able get one before the earth explodes
