Vic Rev vs Vic 2?
I already have both. What's the difference? The store has similar descriptions.

From my (limited) experience, although Vic2 has a few tutorials to get new players started while Vic1 doesn't, there's only 1 campaign in Vic2, and it doesn't define any goals, while Vic1 has 4 of them, and it clearly states the target (and the deadline).

Another difference is that since Vic1 is pretty old and has very few settings, i couldn't yet make it go into windowed-mode. Compared to Vic2, which has an editable text file for this (though i also had to disable the intro movies).

That is what I already suspected. TY.

There are a few differences in game mechanics and how to choose research projects and getting research points and using them, and how how to handle population units and upgrading. But they are much the same game, hopefully with any bugs from Vic 1 fixed (I was never able to build electronic parts factories, for instance, in the pre Revolutions version) I tried to play V1 a lot long (well before 2010) before I had a Steam account, and by the time I was aware of Victoria Revolutions, Victoria 2 was out, so I never did much the Revolutions improvement to V1.

victoria 1 has much more micromanagement and doesent have all the quality of life functions they added in vic2. still a cool game though, however vic 2 is better

I would argue Vic 1 is better (well, in some aspects, it definitely didn't age well).

Here's a reddit post I wrote that goes into details regarding differences between the two.

Vic2 is by far the inferior one, less control of market and state, however Vic2 is more streamlined and it's interface is more fleshed out.

So basically, Vic1 = for pro's but your eyes will bleed.
Vic2 = for noobs, but it looks pretty.

We will have to agree to disagree to me Vic2's graphics are horrible and the interface is jumbled to the point of it being unplayable for me.

Vicky 1 is better
