Difference in Servers?

I see there are two top servers, Red and Blue. Are there any differences or purely a name? Unlike AQW where some have different qualities.

To my knowledge, there is no difference in Red and Blue Dragon servers. Maybe they will add differences when the game goes live later on, such as canned-chat or member only servers.

Is there perhaps any difference in location? Like depending on where you are in the world, would you probably get less lag or higher ping on one server than the other?

No, unfortunately both servers are in the same location at the moment.

to connect to the colsest server to my area what should i do? do that tranfer if i change server? i travel alote

this seems to be mainly for events that require you to pick sides or similar.
red and gold will be for one side and blue and black are used for the other side.
