Ottoman Empire, It's not easy neither hard to play it and you have BIG chances to be one of the first to colonize Africa when you can.

USA is fun if you don't give a crap about the goings-on in Europe.

Russia. Though they start out with a great military, they have terrible financial problems and a non-existant factory base. If you can crank up Russia quick enough, you can conquer Asia, which is what Ive been trying to do, its much harder than any other challenge I think, just because of the sheer manpower China has. You can just kill tens of thousands of them and they dont halt, stop or even regroup. I won every war against them with Attrition simply because I couldn't advance past my own border without compromising my entire defence.

If you can beat Prussia in a war, you can set yourself up to conquer most of Europe.

France. If you can hold even one province from Prussia, they can't form NGF and therefore noone poses a threat to you in europe by 1860 or so.

played ireland in my cousins (dont have it yet, wanna see if complete goes on sale) but Ireland! weird i know but I'm irish and never get to play it in any other game. also if you keep good relations with uk you're left more or less alone

My favorite 4 (with New Nations Mod):
Prussia-> Germany. My first whole game, definitely enjoyed it. Maybe a bit too easy but fun to just stomp everyone.
Japan. Easy to westernize. Fun to expand through Korea/China/South East Asia.
Congress Poland (released from Russia)-> Poland -> Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. Need to play cards right to deal with Prussia(or worse NGF or Germany), Austria, and Russia
Australia (released from UK). High Immigration makes a potential great power in such a good location to expand.

austria. if u can get an alliance with russia or prussia you only need to be concerned with the italian states.Your defense is almost unstoppable,unless u dont defend the gulf of venice.

I like Japan. It's a good introduction to Westernising and thanks to your location you can more or less do as you please without the other GPs caring.
