Victoria II

How to survive as a Communist?
Playing as Soviet Union and passed every social reform, but the only poltical reforms I have are meetings allowed and state controlled trade unions. Militancy is growing .08 percent every month and its getting out of hand. Is Communism impossible to play as in this game?

You gotta make your own KGB. Make like 10 armies just for crushing rebellions.

Militancy is one problem, micromanaging the economy is another one.

I can micromanage the economy the problem is militancy is too high. I don´t understand, the poor/middle class have everything. Jobs, needs met, education, healthcare, pensions, good factory conditions. But because they can't protest, vote, express their opinions, or have any say in the gov't whatsoever they all rebel? Hell, they rebelled for Communism in the first place now they are complaining? Who needs rights or freedom when they have money and social security? Yeah, it might sound bad, but realistically, who will rebel against the might of the Soviet army? It's game mechanics, I guess....

That's what annoys me about the game the most, after my armies crushed their rebellions the last 10 times what makes them think the 11th time will be successful?

Lmao I know. It might be that hope they are clinging to that if they will keep trying, eventually they will win. But it never really happened with the Soviets, not getting rebellions every month, so really I don't understand. But whatever.

Someone should make a mod to fix this issue.

Be prepared to crush the capitalist rebellions! There will be several but your people will eventually start becoming communists if their life needs are being met. If your people's life needs aren't being met they will demand change.

I play with PDM Demand Mod and I know when you become communist there are several options to bring miltancy down but you almost always have to deal with counter revolutions. It usually takes several years to cement your hold and put down the other rebellions. It all comes down to life needs though, build factories and get your people working and getting what they want, eventually they will buy into the communist utopia.

I've been the Soviet Union for around 30 years.

Look in the politics tab and see what reforms your people want, you can move some things with communism, give them all the social changes maxed and they won't be very unhappy.

I have healthcare, pensions, schooling and all the others on max.
Vercingetorix May 25, 2015 @ 6:19pm
Yeah same. What people want is political reform apparently, which comes from reform desire. When reform desire is high, militancy increases. What I really need is how to decrease political reform desire or at the very least lower it to the point where it isn't really a problem.

Don't have the save anymore lol. At first, I cheated by turning myself into a Democracy and playing until end. Then all my saves were deleted when I re-installed the game because it was bugged.

Besides I originally posted this in May 6 and didn't get an answer until 18 days later...
