Cannot Become Great Power
Hi, I'm playing as Baden and I tried to become a great power by spamming prestige techs. However, I reached 8th rank and then 7th rank, where I've stayed for three years. The internet says the great power list refreshes every year, but it's been three years and Bavaria (rank 9) is a great power instead of me (rank 7). Is this a bug? If so, how do I fix it and is there a console command to make me a great power?
Thanks.

If you are in a sphere of someone I think that can cause some issues sometimes.

Is there a remove from sphere cheat then?

You can't become a Great Power with only one state. Being in a sphere doesn't really effect becoming a Great Power, and if anything breaks you out of being in a sphere.

OMP? What does that mean? I am in the same boat as Bavaria, many years at #7, but not a Great Power. Not sure if I'm missing something, like a research field.

OPM, One Province Minor.

Great power changes are about someone in the top 8 dropping, not someone rising. So you might consistently be ranked 7, but if the old 7th and 8th powers (not 8th and 9th) keep swapping back and forth on score to become 8th, neither will drop. This is because once a country hits the top 8, the timer to lose great power status resets.

if you are ranked 8 you prolly just have to wait until someone loses there great power status. Theres like a grace period. But the power below you can comeback and reclaim their status so its not guaranteed

As @PunishedSanders said, the grace period is to allow for a more stable system of great powers, so it just takes a few months to register. Being in a sphere won't harm ya.
