I prefer California and Deseret.

I tried Deseret, I guess I wasn't patient enough to see it get somewhere.
yes, its quite boring as deseret, but i love to invade Texas and ally Mexico
and i ask military acess to Mexico (obviously)

I prefer a few that can be historically correct from 1836, so for example Norway, Java and Cuba as dominions/satellites of the nations that can release them, then work my way to possible independence or just a relaxing game of industrialisation.
India is really challenging but fun
I can't unify India, you troll, how you do it?
HiberaBad ain't working.
You can release it though and play as the released country (as the thread is about releasable countries)

Do you need to take all those small Indian nations?

theUSguy425 It is quite easy and peaceful to play as Quebec unless you manage to ally the US or Canada and start to colonize. I have not really played as Canada.
I saw some guy play as Canada and he got attacked almost straight away as USA had a core on them and UK wouldn't allie him. Also why would Quebec be "quite easy and peaceful to play as" "unless you manage to ally the US"? Wouldn't allying USA be what makes them easy and peaceful to play?

Australia, obviously.
scotland and quebec, i like making fun of them for wanting independence
Canada. As long as you give the USA core to USA and colonise the rest of British Columbia before releasing them from the UK, it is very easy to become a great power. You can get huge numbers of immigrants and it is really easy to get reforms (leading to better literacy, more pop growth and more immigrants). They also start with a decent literacy and are able to stay close to 100% most of the game (hard to reach 100% you get illiterate POPs moving in).
The nonsuch give me a great idea! i always played canada from 1836, so i really was screwed with the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ USA...
