How can I get rid of these Liberals?
I'm doing a Chile playthrough (so democracy) and these Liberals are ruining my country despite them not having the support of my people, they seem to consistantly win elections,so do you have any tips on how to get rid of these bastards?

Í'd like to give you a different answer as I've got the same issue in my latest Texas playthough, but all you can really do is use your NF points to encourage your desired party and after 2-3 terms they should get enough support (unless if you've done lots of expanding as I did as Texas which screwed me over). I've been looking up if there is another way but seriously, I couldn't even find cheats which could help.

Well, is your voting system landed elite only? or do you have gerrymandering? if so that would be why, as the upper classes tend to be liberal or anarcho-liberal.

suport whichever government type you want in your capital and most populated provences with national influence and don't enact any changes that that political idea would suport. you should then get a few rebelions gain suport make sure you keep your troups away from the capital and provences you influenced and that the rebelion on you capital is suporting the government you want.

oh the best way to get rid of liberals is to give them what they want or suprese them. you want to get rid of free press and public meetings by backing reactionarys in your country. you can also get a absolute monarchy/dictatorship that way which will give you full controle over your policies. good if you want to give your country the economic boost which slavery provides. sometimes though you can only bring policies back as aboslute monarchy/dictatorship can't really remember what decides that which can bring unwanted socialist and comunest rebles primarily.

Thanks for all the tips guys! However I just went ahead and sparked a reactionary rebalion, things are much better now, and Davety you were right it was my voting laws that were screwing me over, I think for my next playthrough I won't be picking a democracy, to much hassel.

Can you explain how to do the gerrymandering and propaganda stuff? Because I'd like to use them in my Scandinavia and Australia campaigns.

sure. gerrymandering is a poltical policy, bottom right, that gives greater support to the ruling party. and propaganda is national foci encouraging certain parties, like encouraging socialism or fascism. the longer its used, the greater its effect.

Yeah I though that's all there was to it, I've been using propaganda extensively in my Texas campaign as it was a must to prevent those darn liberals from destroying the industry I had been building.
