Victoria II

Victoria II

Crash on Database II
If anyone has any suggestions for fixing this it would be great. I've tried reinstalling, deleting the contents of the map cache folder, and the time file. Thanks!

You're not meant to delete the map/cache folder, only what's inside it.

Yeah, I fixed it.
This is all I could find:

Quote from another thread :
"Do a fresh reinstall. Backup your saves, then "delete local content" on steam, then delete the victoria 2 folder in /Steam/steamapps/common AND if you are using AHD, your settings files, located in My Documents by default. Then reinstall the game fresh, and patch it up.

Ah yes, and if you made a save with that mod installed, you will likely have to delete it too."

I also saw that this is not your first thread on this topic, perhaps you should consider Paradox Plaza or whatever the official forums are.

Try running the v2game.exe in the gamefiles directly as an Admin.
Also clear the cache in the Documents / Paradox Interactive / Victoria II / map / cache folder.

Usually it is fixxed however by a fresh reinstall if I remember correctly - you got to make sure that there is no "leftovers" before you re-download it.
I fixed it. Thanks guys :)

Mind sharing how?

1. Delete Local Content

2.Then delete the entire Victoria II folder here C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common

3. Go to C:\Users\whatever\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Victoria II (or wherever your have your documents folder). For me, it just had the files "logs" and "map". I deleted both of them.

4. I reinstalled it again and started it via v2game.exe in the /common/Victoria2 folder

5. When I started it, I got the "File exception: Exception in: virtualfilesystem.cpp, line: 662. Description: The system cannot find the file" problem. I fixed this by deleting the contents in /Victoria 2/map/cache folder.

6. I tried playing through v2game.exe again and it worked fine.

Basically delete the game and also delete the contents of the Vicky2 Documents folder - got it! Thanks, will remember that solution for future references ! :)
